The long-running transfer saga surrounding Timo Werner has at last come to a close. Chelsea announced on Thursday morning that Werner had agreed personal terms with the Premier League club and will join up with his new team-mates in July, subject to passing a medical.
According to Kicker, the 24-year-old has signed a five-year deal with the club and will earn €10 million per year, meanwhile Bild reports that Die Roten Bullen will only receive €35 million of the €53 million transfer fee due to taxes, player and agent shares, a repayment to Red Bull, and €6 million going to his former club, Stuttgart, as part of a sell-on clause.

RB Leipzig are in negotiations with Sparta Prague to sign Czech Republic Under-21 international, Adam Hložek, with the idea of sending him back to Prague on loan for a season. Chelsea are also interested and provide a strong opposition as club Technical and Performance Adviser, Petr Čech, has good connections to Hložek. Bayern Munich and Arsenal have previously scouted the teenager.

RB Leipzig’s pursuit of to sign Patrik Schick permanently continues. The club allowed its purchase of €29 million in two instalments or €27 million up front to expire on June 15 as it aims to negotiate a reduced fee. Leipzig are only willing to offer a maximum of €20 million for Schick but Roma do not want to sell below €26 million to avoid a considerable loss on the €42 million spent to sign him from Sampdoria in 2018. Newcastle United have requested information on the 24-year-old, meanwhile Tottenham Hotspur and Everton are also interested.
