Red Bull Salzburg Transfer Round-up: January 27 – February 2

Red Bull Salzburg look set to have a busy winter transfer window as the club not only looks to replace two instrumental figures in Erling Håland and Takumi Minamino this month, but also fend off some of Europe’s elite trying to poach the club’s talent. Switzerland international Noah Okafor has successfully completed his move to Austria from Basel for a reported fee of €11.2 million (a new club record for Salzburg) and the 19-year-old has signed a contract until May 31, 2024. He will wear the number 77 shirt.

I have wanted to come here for a long time. Four years ago I almost joined, but it didn’t work out that time. I’m incredibly proud now that it has worked out.

NAME: YOUBA DIARRA | AGE: 21 | CLUB: ST. PAULI | NATIONALITY: MALI | POSITION: CENTRAL MIDFIELD | FEE: N/A | Contract: N/A

Youba Diarra has been recalled from his loan spell at St. Pauli in order to recover from the cruciate ligament tear he sustained in October. He recently underwent surgery for this injury and will now focus on his rehabilitation in Salzburg. He played just three times for the Hamburg-based club.

Departures

NAME: SMAIL PREVLJAK | AGE: 24 | CLUB: KAS EUPEN | NATIONALITY: BOSNIA & HERZEGOVINA | POSITION: centre-forward | FEE: N/A | CONTRACT: 6 MONTHS (LOAN)

Bosnian centre-forward Smail Prevljak has joined Belgian First Division club KAS Eupen on loan until the end of the season. The 24-year-old made just 5 appearances for Die Roten Bullen this season and has left in order to pursue more game time.

English Premier League club West Ham United have been linked with a move for Red Bull Salzburg right-back Rasmus Kristensen. According to the Salzburger Nachrichten, the interest was met with a smile as the club has no plans to sell the Denmark Under-21 international this month.
