Red Bull Bragantino Transfer Round-up: January 6-12

The Brazilian transfer market opened to business on January 1 and Red Bull Bragantino are heavily in the market for new signings as the club prepares for its first season in Série A since 1990. Red Bull Hub will provide a weekly round-up of all Bragantino’s arrivals, departures and rumours.

Arrivals

Name: Thonny Anderson | Age: 22 | Club: Grêmio | Nationality: Brazil | Position: attacking midfielder | Fee: R$13 (€3) million (reported) | Contract: 5 years

Following a successful 2019 campaign with Athletico Paranaense on loan from Grêmio, Red Bull Bragantino came in with an offer of €2.6 million to acquire 35% of his economic rights which was accepted by the club. He arrived at the training ground in Itu-SP on January 10 and trained with the squad before being unveiled to the public.

Name: Artur | Age: 21 | Club: Palmeiras | Nationality: Brazil | Position: winger | Fee: R$25 (€5) million (reported) | Contract: 5 years

Named the second best revelation of the 2019 Série A Artur had an outstanding season on loan at Bahia, which lead to Bragantino offering Palmeiras a club record breaking offer of R$25 (€5) million that was accepted by the club. Instead of returning to Palmeiras from his loan, he travelled to Itu-SP to sign a contract with Massa Bruta on January 8 after saying farewell to fans on Instagram.

Lucas Ramon left Red Bull Bragantino after his contract expired and Coritiba pounced to sign the full-back on a 1-year loan deal.

Rumoured Arrivals

Name: Yago Darub | Age: 20 | Club: Flamengo | Nationality: Brazil | Position: goalkeeper | Offer: 1 Year Loan | Interested clubs: N/A | Source: Cola do Fla via One Football

Since Bragantino couldn’t find anyone to replace Kewin (showing interest in 3 and offers for all have been rejected) Bragantino are now in negotiations with Flamengo to sign Under-20 goalkeeper Yago Darub on a 1-year loan.

Bragantino are reportedly interested in signing Porto B defensive midfielder Luizão, who is currently on loan in Ukraine at Vorskla Poltava. The club is yet to make an offer but is studying whether to do so. Ceará have also joined Massa Bruta in having an interest in the Brazilian.

The players has stated that he wants to leave Atalanta due to a lack of game time, so various clubs are looking into his situation, and one of them being Bragantino, which sent an undisclosed offer but it was rejected. It is expected that he will remain in Europe, with Roma and Bologna offering between €8-10 million.

Red Bull Bragantino have shown interest in signing former Red Bull Brasil loanee Alison on a 1-year loan from Santos. The club hasn’t ruled out selling the 26-year-old, but Jesualdo Ferreira wants them to hold back on sales to give him time to evaluate the squad. Bragantino doesn’t want to wait and negotiations have gone cold.

Fabrício Bruno wants to leave Cruzeiro since the club is in a massive financial crisis that is resulting in unpaid salaries and players taking it to court for monetary compensation. Red Bull Bragantino were close to signing the 23-year-old for R$2 million, acquiring 70% of his economic rights, however, negotiations have now halted after Cruzeiro sporting director Alexandre Mattos vacated his position at the club. Bragantino remained interested in the centre-back until Red Bull stepped in to cancel the deal due to the ongoing legal battle.
